Brief
Wates Construction were chosen by Leeds City College to provide their new Quarry Hill Campus and having worked directly for Leeds City College over a number of years Fresco were asked to provide their heavy duty roller blinds to the new £60m building.
Wide expanses of glazing required a robust solution to ensure that the mechanism would cope with the overall weight of the blind and also be available with wide fabrics to alleviate any requirement for unsightly seams in the blinds.
Delivery
Manual operation throughout the building meant that some areas required blinds 3000mm wide x 3600mm high and the roller blind system needed to be extremely robust whilst the operation needed to be easy for everyone to use.
Linea 314 heavy duty roller blinds with blackout fabric for teaching areas and anti-glare fabric for office areas was the preferred option for Leeds City College.
Results
Installation was carried out according to Wates Construction programme with all aspects of H&S covered including PASMA for high level installations
