EMERALD HEADINGLEY STADIUM
CADDICK CONSTRUCTION

Brief

With Ashes Cricket, ICC Cricket World Cup and Leeds Rugby Super League fixtures all coming to Headingley in 2019, Caddick Construction were especially stringent on choosing product and supplier to partner with for the new £44m stand.

The banqueting suite with curtain walling overlooking both the rugby and cricket pitches was of major importance when deciding on type of blinds and it was imperative that the blinds looked uniform from both inside and outside of the building.

Delivery

Fresco proposed the Linea 400ZE framed electric roller blinds with powder coated side channels to match curtain walling RAL and concealed headboxes above the ceiling to give an appearance that the blinds were almost part of the structure rather than an ‘add-on’

Blinds were motorised using digital motors for 100% alignment when operating the blinds to the desired position.

Operation of the blinds was to be limited to designated users so that people could not raise the blinds when there was a function taking place whilst games were in play.  This was achieved by providing an app which allowed nominated users to operate the blinds from Tablets/Laptops as and when required.

Results

Working closely with the Caddick management and site team installation was carried out on time and to budget.

The result is an amazing structure that Caddick Construction, DLA Architects and all trades involved are extremely proud of being part of

Fresco Solar Shading were invited into a competitive tender for blinds for the new 44m Emerald Headingley Stadium.  We provided a brief and asked each company to propose a motorised framed roller blind to give privacy when functions were in progress.

Fresco worked tirelessly on providing the product which allowed flexibility on operating blinds in large banks when the banqueting suite was in full use and the adaptability of localised operation when the suite was broken down into smaller rooms.

Fresco were very much part of the success we had in handing over a state of the art stadium that we are all proud of being part of.
